Un DayThis year, the annual United Nations Week celebrated from October 16 to 24 is being designed in keeping with the theme of the Ethiopian Millennium and reinforcement of the thirteen key Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)-related messages.  In particular, UN Week will place specific focus on the issue of Food and Nutrition as a major development issue for Ethiopia. 

Part of the plan for UN week is to initiate in Ethiopia for the first time a national effort in alignment with the internationally-organized UN campaign “Stand Up Against Poverty, Stand Up for the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs)”.  This initiative has been promoted annually by the Global UN Millennium Development Committee over the past four years.
